What are Smile Academy aligners?

How does it work?
Your smile transformation journey begins with a comprehensive consultation, where your dentist will first learn about your ultimate smile goals and assess your teeth to see if Smile Academy is suitable for your needs.
If you’re a good candidate for Smile Academy aligners, the next step is the creation of your personalised treatment plan. You’ll have a digital scan done of your teeth (no putty!) and this will be used to design and produce a series of aligners precisely tailored to your personal dental structure and goal profile.
When your aligners arrive, we’ll help you to understand exactly what to do and you’ll be able to ask as many questions as you like before you get started. We’ll get you to check in periodically, too, so that we can make sure everything is progressing as it should be. Adjustments can be made easily, so do attend the check ins and tell us how it’s going.
Each aligner will differ slightly from the previous one and you’ll wear each for a week or two, according to your personal treatment plan. As the aligners start to apply very gentle pressure to your teeth, you may or may not notice them gradually moving into the new position.
At the end of your treatment plan, your dentist will talk to you about maintaining your new, straight smile. Some patients need to wear retainers initially and periodically to prevent the teeth shifting back to their original position.

How aligners compare to traditional braces

Are Smile Academy aligners right for me?
An excellent option for most candidates, but not for everyone, the Smile Academy teeth straightening system has the best results with crowded or crooked teeth, gapped teeth or for over, under and cross bites.
